The
Groome Inn Bed and Breakfast, located just outside
Greensboro, North Carolina, was built circa 1900
by Marvin Groome. Marvin was the youngest son of
Zachariah Groome, the first Groome to settle in
Guilford County. The farmhouse was purchased in
2003 by Mrs. Fred M. Groome Jr. (Jimmie) and has
been beautifully remodeled to comfortably accommodate
guests.
The historic hilltop house, nestled among majestic
white oaks, rests on eight acres of rolling green lawns
and woods. Guests are encouraged to meander the grounds
and gardens, full of native North Carolina flora, or
sit and relax on the vast wraparound porch always cooled
by a country breeze.
